ILO R 164 recommends that all organisations’ are subject to a periodic Health and Safety Audit to ensure that their Safety Management Systems are adequate and to help to achieve continuous improvement.

Health and Safety Audit –
If you're busy running your business, it is sometimes difficult to know whether you're managing the health and safety aspects and staying on the right side of the law.
Audit Scope

We have versatile auditors, who are capable of demonstrating either Indian Standard 14489:1998 or International standard  OHSAS 18001:2007 series– code of practice on Occupational Safety and Health Audit. The specific hazards prevalent in any organization are also identified at the field to provide engineering and system solutions.

Understanding the needs& requirements of Organizations, audits can focus on all elements of Occupation, Safety and Health system. To quote few,
  •  Planning for hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
  •  IS or OHSAS management programme
  •  Structure and responsibility
  •  Safety awareness and competency Training
  •  Safety Consultation and communication
  •  Operational control (like Safe system of work, Permit to work system)
  •   Promoting positive safety culture
Benefits of Safety Audit

  •  Identify Substandard H&S practices
  •  Assess the potential losses associated with the risk
  •  Performance Improvement
  •  Improved safety culture
  •  Evolve measures to minimize the losses
  •  Potential Insurance saving
A safety audit uncovers unsafe conditions and poor work practices, which are the principal causes of accidents. Thus, the safety audit process can reduce illnesses and injuries, and associated medical, insurance, and litigation costs.

In addition to improving the safety and health of employees, the audit process can also improve business operations. It can maintain, and in some instances, increase productivity, by reducing interruptions caused by accidents. It identifies conditions where machinery, equipment, or tools need repair or replacement, thus increasing the efficiency of the business operation. The bottom line is that an effective safety audit contributes to improved quality, productivity, performance, and profitability of a business.

Another added advantage in carrying out a health and safety audit is that it will enable an Organization to satisfy itself that the company’s own Health and Safety Policy and associated documents are being implemented properly.

The findings from the audit will be detailed in a report which will offer advice and guidance on actions necessary to enable the company to fully comply with health & safety regulations and best industry practice.

In addition we will review structure and methods of operation, and survey the workplace internally, externally and site operations, to identify hazards, effectiveness of existing control measures, unsafe acts or conditions, and non-compliance with Regulations, poor individual safety awareness.
Our audits have proved extremely useful to the Organizations to introduce an active OHSAS 18001:2007 or OHSMS
